Sony's VGN-UX50 Handheld PC

Sony has announced its smallest PC yet, the Sony VGN-UX50. The VGN-UX50 is about the size of a paperback book but runs full Windows XP on an intel Centrino processor. It includes built-in fingerprint reader, a camera for web conferencing, and a companion Bluetooth GPS receiver. It also includes a 4.5 inch LCD screen with 1024 x 600 resolution.

The UX50 will be available in Japan on May 27 and in the US sometime in July, and will sell for about $1,800 US.

A great little unit
I bought one at Yodobashi camera a week ago, and used in lots in Japan. Absolutely love the machine. Doesn't have a Centrino processor like the article claims, but rathar runs on a Core Solo at 1.06 GHz. It's about 20% faster than my aging Dell la...more
