News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - January 02, 2007

Avis is expected to offer Wi-Fi enabled rental cars by March 2007. A partnership with a startup company Autonet Mobile, will make the rental car hot spots a reality. For an additional $11 per day charge Avis customers will get a notebook-size portable device that plugs into a car's power supply and delivers a high-speed Internet connection to passengers.

The Autonet service is based off of cellular towers and can get speeds ranging from 400 kilobytes per second to 1 megabyte per second.
