Amazon announces new Kindle 2

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - February 10, 2009

Amazon has just unveiled the much anticipated Kindle 2. Like the original Kindle, the Kindle 2 allows users to wirelessly shop for books and download them to the device. The new Kindle 2 will be slimmer and have a longer battery life. The page turns will be faster, it will have more storage and offer sharper images.

The new Amazon Kindle 2 has a 6-inch, 600-by-800-pixel e-Ink display that looks like real paper. The new version will offer 16 shades of gray versus the 4 shades available in the original model. It will have 2 GB of memory, allowing it to hold more than 1,500 books.

Amazon says the Kindle 2 will debut on Feb 24 for $360.
