Google Set-Top Box on the way

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - March 18, 2010

Google really is determined to be everywhere aren't they? The New York Times has informed the world that Google will have a set-top box in the near future, and it will run Android.

Google has partnered with Intel and Sony to develop Google TV.

"The partners envision technology that will make it as easy for TV users to navigate Web applications, like the Twitter social network and the Picasa photo site, as it is to change the channel."

NYT says Google TV set-top boxes will use an Intel Atom chip and run an Android-based platform,. The technology will also be built directly into Blu-ray players and TVs from Sony. Google is also working with Logitech to build a keyboard-equipped remote control for the platform.
